Privacy Policy (PDPO)
This is what personal data ranked.hk collects, and why, under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
What we collect
- Click and call counts when someone uses a listing’s WhatsApp, phone or website button.
- On a claim form: your Business Registration number, work email, the listing you picked, and a Cloudflare Turnstile token so we can tell you from a bot. The Business Registration number and the full email go in the claim email to us. PostHog receives the listing slug and the email domain only.
- Product analytics events (pages viewed, searches, listing clicks, claim steps) and JavaScript error reports through PostHog, so we can see how the directory is used and fix broken pages. We do not record sessions.
Why we collect it
- To run the directory, including those click and call counts.
- To look at a listing claim and to write back to you about it.
- To understand which pages and listings people use, and to fix errors.
Who processes it
Analytics and error reports are processed by PostHog. The browser talks to our first-party host t.ranked.hk, which forwards events to PostHog Cloud (US). That is a transfer outside Hong Kong. PostHog stores a cookie so it can recognise the same browser across visits. We do not sell this data.
Listing claims are emailed to us through Resend so we can review them and write back. Resend processes that message outside Hong Kong. The claim email includes the listing, your Business Registration number, your work email, and the network address the form was sent from. PostHog does not receive the Business Registration number or the full email.
The claim form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check you are not a bot. Your browser talks to Cloudflare for that check. We only keep the pass/fail result long enough to accept or reject the form.
Direct marketing
We do not use personal data for direct marketing, and we do not pass it to anyone else for that purpose.
Your rights
We do not sell personal data. You can ask to see or correct your personal data at any time through the contact page.
